What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It can remember a choice you made, for example, so that you do not have to make it again on your next visit.
Which cookies we use
They fall into two groups. One is the necessary cookies, which make the site work and are always set. The other is analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which are only set if you say yes in the cookie box. Before you have answered, no analytics cookies are set at all.
The necessary cookies
There are three. The first is a login cookie that is only set when someone logs into the restaurant's admin panel, and it disappears on logout. The second is called NEXT_LOCALE and remembers whether you chose Swedish or English. The third is called sparen_consent and stores your answer in the cookie box, yes or no, so that you are not asked again on every visit. NEXT_LOCALE and sparen_consent are kept for up to a year, and neither of them says anything about who you are.
Statistics with Google Analytics
We use Google Tag Manager to start Google Analytics 4. The tag loads on the page, but it runs in Google's consent mode: it may neither set cookies nor measure anything that can be tied to you until you have accepted. Only then does Google Analytics set two cookies in your browser, _ga which tells visitors apart and _ga_11LYS473EG which keeps track of the individual visit. Both are kept for up to two years. We use them purely for aggregated visitor statistics: how many people have been here, which pages are read most, how often someone clicks to order online or to call us, and how often the contact form is sent. We measure that a button was used, never what you write in the form. We set no advertising or profiling cookies, and we do not sell any data on.
Your choice and how to change it
The first time you visit the site you get a box where you can accept all cookies or open More options. There you see each category, what it contains and how long it is kept, and you can turn analytics cookies on or off, decline everything or save your own settings. The site works just as well whichever you pick. Your answer is stored in the sparen_consent cookie for up to a year. You can change your mind at any time: click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page and the box comes back. If you go from yes to no the measurement stops immediately, and cookies that were already set are cleared in your browser settings.

If you follow the link to our ordering page or to our Facebook page you leave alvestasparen.se. Those services set their own cookies under their own terms, and we do not control them.
How to clear or block cookies
You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings, and that is also where you remove cookies that have already been set. If you block the necessary ones the site will still work, but your language choice will not be remembered, the cookie box will come back on every visit and logging into the admin panel will not be possible.
